Every quarter, one question sits at the heart of Nigeria’s crypto conversation:
"Which blockchains really matter here — not just globally, but on the ground in Nigeria?"
That’s what the Web3 Nigeria Chain Mindshare Report is built to answer.
We’re not just tracking TVL or price charts. We’re looking at mindshare, the chains Nigerians are building on, trading with, and talking about the most. The chains that show up in conversations, at hackathons, in P2P markets, and inside the communities shaping Web3 in Africa’s largest crypto economy.
For Q3 2025, here are the Top 10 Blockchains by Mindshare in Nigeria, and why they matter right now:

1. Solana
Fast, cheap, and community-driven, Solana has become the heartbeat of NFTs and memecoin trading in Nigeria. Its speed and vibrant ecosystem make it the chain of choice for young creators and builders pushing culture forward. With Superteam Nigeria leading the charge as the largest on-ground Solana community, helping builders and creators explore building on Solana.
2. Base
Coinbase’s Layer-2 is rising fast in Nigeria. With easy fiat onramps and integrations, Base makes onboarding smoother, and that accessibility is winning over retail users and developers alike. In Q3 we experienced a huge amount of community membership and participation for base L2 as well as online mentions with the advent of Base West Africa led by Damilare Aregbesola. The support for builders on base has been very intentional all thanks to Jesse Pollak's unwavering support.
3. Ethereum
Ethereum is still the bedrock. From DeFi to stablecoins to DAOs, Nigerian developers and institutions continue to trust Ethereum as the chain where serious innovation happens.
4. Lisk
Once considered a legacy project, Lisk L2 is re-emerging with modular blockchain solutions. Nigerian devs exploring interoperability are giving it a fresh look, proving old names can spark new curiosity. This wouldn't have been possible without the work being done by Lisk Africa, led by Chidubem, as well as the grassroots events championed by Lisk in the country, all thanks to Santiago.
5. Binance Smart Chain (BSC)
Cheap fees. Deep liquidity. And Memecoins built by Nigerians on BSC are making waves, including Binance’s dominance in Nigeria’s exchange market. Together, these keep BSC firmly in the conversation as the go-to chain for everyday trading and DeFi activity.
6. Sui
For Nigeria’s creative community, Sui is fast becoming the chain of choice. With its focus on performance and user experience, it’s carving out space in gaming, NFTs, and consumer-friendly apps. As well as supporting localized events in the country to onboard more students into the chain.
7. Avalanche
Avalanche brings speed and flexibility with its subnet model, making it a favorite for Nigerian builders experimenting with scalable DeFi, real-world assets, and enterprise-focused blockchain solutions as well as gaming.
8. Aptos
Built on the Move language, Aptos is capturing the imagination of Nigerian developers exploring next-gen dApps. It’s also building momentum in Web3 gaming circles, where Africa’s player base is booming. All thanks to the incredible work done by Aptos Africa.
9. Internet Computer (ICP)
ICP is still one of the boldest experiments in blockchain, aiming to decentralize the internet itself. In Nigeria, its local ICP hubs and educational programs are giving it steady visibility among technologists.
10. Polkadot
Polkadot hasn’t lost its place in the conversation. With its focus on interoperability, it remains a chain Nigerian developers look to when exploring cross-chain innovation and ecosystem bridging.
